Here at Media Arts & Culture, we are driven by a single goal; to do our part in making the world a better place for all. We strive to build productive relationships and make a positive impact with all of our pursuits. We have been a part of and had the honour of running numerous short term RSL's broadcasts on the FM frequency since 2005. Our journey has led us to believe that the Muslim Community is in need of a voice to express the true message of Islam. We aim to revive the love of Allah (SWT) and the beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) in the hearts of all people.
Radio Ramadan Food Packages
The month of Ramadan is the most blessed month in the Islamic calendar it is a month which teaches Muslims about self-sacrifice and obedience to the creator. We decided to appeal to the Bradford community to take part in a beautiful project to distribute food packages to the poor provinces in Pakistan. We raised a large amount of money and every penny that was raised was given towards this project. Unfortunately many institutes today take a certain percentage of the donation towards various costs resulting in a small amount of every pound benefiting the company and not the target of the donation. But we at Media Arts & Culture believe that neglecting the poor and preventing them from receiving the full benefit of the donation is unethical and will lead to an unfair distribution of wealth. This methodology allowed us to remove ourselves from the equation and focus on the target which allowed us to give every penny that was collected towards the project. We would like to thank the Bradford community and all participants who donated generously to this project.
Media Arts & Culture Water Pump Project
The Water Pump project was initiated because of Shahid Kaleem who had a beautiful idea and his wise words really touched the hearts of the other members of the Media Arts & Culture team. He said "There is so much poverty in our place of birth, the government doesn’t want to help them so the duty falls on us who are in a position to make a change, instead of building shelters let us look towards the prevention of starvation within that destitute community, and we will focus our attention towards food and water". When most people are looking towards constructing shelters and other institutes what purpose would they serve if there is no one to enter in them. If people die of starvation there is no point for a house. This is what inspired us and when we announced the project on the Radio the Bradford community; they contributed generously which enabled us to reach our target.
At Media Arts & Culture, we are dedicated to stepping up our efforts in addressing this issue. Volunteer Opportunities is by no means an easy feat, but through cooperation and community empowerment we believe we can facilitate progress in this area. We are always striving to make a difference, and invite you to learn more and lend your support. If you are interested in taking part in our radio broadcast or would like to be a part of the Media Arts & Culture team do not hesitate to contact us.
Live Kids Competition in the Studio
The Live competition programmes have become very popular during the RSL broadcasts because of the wide range of sponsors and prizes on offer. The idea for such a program came from Hamaad who has been part of the Media Arts and Culture team since the beginning. He Presents the Kids Competition show which airs between 7pm and 9pm on the live broadcast of many awarded RSL transmissions. He was very impressed that so many community members enjoyed the structure and presentation of his programs that he went out of his way to give back to the community especially with such positive feedback. He invited children and their parents to the studio to hold a competition where they would be awarded certificates and trophies for participating. This event was very significant in our RSL broadcast because it showed the rest of the community the love children had for their religion. The Live studio competition was an overwhelming success with much positive comments from sponsors, parents and listeners.
Prestigious Gatherings in the Studio
These beautiful gatherings have become very popular and are held in high esteem. An invitation is given to Preachers and certain community members to attend, these events are broadcasted live on the radio and our website. The Islamic scholars honour us with their presence and inspire listeners with beautiful and heart touching speeches. This allows all the opportunity to reflect upon life and about the decisions which would ultimately change our outcome in the hereafter. The studio at this moment is filled with an overwhelming sensation of peace which envelopes everyone. The gatherings start with an introduction by Hafiz Mohammed Ayyaz Qureshi followed by a recitation which enlightens the whole gathering, Followed by a recitation of a beautiful Hamd or Naat and then the microphone is given to our prestigious guests of honour our learned scholars who motivate us and remind us of what we must do to attain inner peace and tranquillity. These gatherings are essential in helping to raise the spirits and to reawaken our dead hearts.
MAC Internet Radio Project
We at Media Arts & Culture have been looking for opportunities in which we can cater for the needs of the community locally and around the world. We introduced the MAC internet radio to the Bradford public in 2014 where we were privileged to be part of another RSL. We advertised our internet radio on flyers and broadcasted it live on the radio. We received substantial feedback from our Bradford audience and realized there was a high demand for an all year round Islamic service which could be easily accessed by everyone. The Media Arts & Culture team came up with an idea where our audience could access our service with only one touch of a button. The solution was an internet radio; we found out that the majority of people living in the UK had internet access and this would allow the community to be connected with us without having the need to change any setting with this new internet radio technology. We allocated an engineer to install the device for people wanting the service. Although we managed to install the internet radio into many homes the fact still remained that this products manufacturer had stopped production of this item which left us in a dilemma. Many homes still didn’t have internet radios and the demand was increasing day by day. So we decided that the best solution is for the Media Arts & Culture team to produce its own product so we can easily distribute it to all people interested in our services. In order for us to make our own product we need approx. £10,000 . If you would like to donate to this cause. Click the Paypal button below. Thank You
